Portfolio
During my high-school years I had a passion for programming Direct X games with the DarkBASIC Professional engine. As I started at university I decided it was time to create an online showcase of my games, and hence my transition away from games and towards web development began.
Web Development
MSUOTC.co.uk
While studying at university, I was an Officer Cadet at Manchester and Salford Universities Officer Training Corps. Their existing website was a decade old and hadn’t aged well, so I built it from scratch with the CodeIgniter PHP framework, with a touch of jQuery and Google Maps API. It featured a member’s area with message boards, voting polls, MOTD, and training schedules.
hoizo.com
hoizo has been the biggest challenge for me so far. I set up the VPS with an Nginx server, and proceeded to single-handedly build the site with the Zend PHP framework. It features use of Google Maps, PayPal, and social media plug-ins. I also supervised creation of the Facebook app.
SecretCompass.com
Secret Compass wanted a developer to spruce up their site, and as a fan of their industry and services I felt compelled to offer my skills. I improved their already-existing WordPress template to be more SEO-friendly and embedded new features.
Writing
8mediacentral.com
8mediacentral approached me asking for tutorials rather than a website. I wrote two in total, as requested*:
